Bleaching Chemicals is one of three global sub business units within AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals. We are the world's largest manufacturer of sodium chlorate and one of the largest producers of hydrogen peroxide. We supply essential chemicals to the global pulp industry and other selected industries from 24 locations worldwide. Our head office is located in Marietta, Georgia, USA and we employ 950 people.
Both Sodium Chlorate and Hydrogen Peroxide are produced at the Alby site, which is located just outside Ånge in Västernorrland. Around 86 people are employed in Alby.
Responsibility
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer who likes working with production planning, coordination and optimization. In this position you will be responsible for planning of production and raw materials supply as well as the follow up of production. As a production coordinator you will be responsible for leading the annual planned shutdown and leading improvement projects both technical and organizational. A very important aspect of the role is optimizing production, maximizing output and minimizing input, in close collaboration with the production engineer. In this position you will also play an important role in the coordination between the different chlorate and hydrogen peroxide plants within Pulp and Performance Chemicals.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Planning of production and raw materials supply.
• Follow up production by:
• Managing inventory counting.
• Variable production cost and consumption figures.
• Explaining differences between planned and actual consumption and production
• Developing automated work processes.
• Collaborate with the central logistics department and the global technology group.
• Substitute for Production Engineer.
• Identify and solve process problems.
As a Production Coordinator you will be part of the production and technology department in Alby and will report to the Production Manager.
Job requirements
• Master of Science in process chemistry / chemical engineering or corresponding education.
• Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal and the ambition to learn Swedish.
• Documented communication skills in writing reports and presenting results.
• Knowledge of economic follow up of production processes.
• Drivers license.
We are looking for a highly motivated engineer who wants to develop itself in this role. This position can be interesting for both newly graduated engineers and engineers with some years of working experience. You are a good communicator, both in writing and verbally, and you are a good team player as you will be collaborating with different departments and supporting the operators and supervisors. As a person you are methodical, responsible, result oriented and quality driven.
