Join ABB as a Product Verification Engineer and you will be part of Technology and Solutions Development, within the Power Grids division, in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used, among other things, to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.The MACH Control & Protection Platform R&D department is a part of ABB Technology and Solutions Development in Ludvika and it is responsible for the development of state-of-the-art control system platform for HVDC and FACTS. The MACH C&P department in Ludvika has around 70 employees, focusing mainly on Hardware and Software design working in close collaboration with the global MACH C&P organization. Please find out more about our world leading technology at www.abb.com/hvdcTasksAs product verification engineer you will strengthen our team of approximately 20 skilled co-workers. We develop advanced electronics for HVDC:s and FACTS control and protection Systems, from idea to final product including verification and validation. Your mission will be to Plan and perform unit verification and environmental testing, which is mainly based on Standard IEC 61000-6-5. Another important part of your work will be to produce test reports. Given our global arena, you will have great opportunities to broaden your network as well as further deepen your skills in our challenging settings - a great foundation for your future with us.RequirementsTo succeed you need to have experience from electrical verification or/and testing and as part of this you have been working with environmental testing within the following areas:* Climate testing including cold, dry heat and damp heat. * EMC testing including surge, fast transient/burst and Radio frequency electromagnetic field. * Mechanical testing including seismic, vibration and mechanical chock.Since all our documentation is done in Word and/or Excel, you also need solid knowledge of MS Office. Experience from Hidraw, Matlab and/or Labview is a merit.Currently you may work in a testlab or/and work as an electronics designer, testing products on a regular basis. As a competence base you have a university education but relevant experience from product verifications and environmental testing is most important. Furthermore, you need to be fluent in English, both written and spoken. With your sound judgment it is natural for you to focus on reliability, results and execution.
