The position as Product Tester is sorted under the Quality Assurence department of Opera Software. The main task of this department is to ensure that all Opera Software products will adhere to our vision - "the best internet experience on any device". You will be a part of our skilled team of software testers and work closely together with developers and project managers to ensure that we can release all our products with the best quality possible.
Responsibilities
• Tracking and following up on bug reports
• Direct communication and follow up with customers
• Proactively reporting defects and issues
• Writing test cases
• Product testing
• Writing documentation, such as test reports, etc.
• Writing and executing test plans
Requirements
Candidates should have knowledge and experience in several or all of the following areas:
• Good knowledge of end-user browser behaviour
• Experience with regards to quality assurance, test procedures, and software/product testing
• BS or MS in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with more than one operating system
• Skilled in the (X)HTML, CSS, and ECMAScript Web standards
• The ability to communicate in English (both written and oral). Other language skills in addition to this may prove valuable
Being structured, able to work independently, and have good communication skills is also a "must" for this position. The ability to quickly read up on new specifications and adapt and respond to changing customer requirements is also very important.
