We are searching for a commercially experienced Product Strategy Manager to join the Lab ÄKTA Product Management team. The main responsibility is to manage the strategic planning of the portfolio and to provide oversight of commercial and technical aspects of the portfolio including customer needs, commercial needs and market/industry trends. The role involves interactions with all other functions in the company.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Lead the strategic planning in collaboration with product managers and product leader to unravel new growth opportunities.
• Develop product segment roadmap, including new product development, research pipeline and market/product support project strategy. Work with R&D teams to ensure alignment.
• Identify and lead the in-depth business analysis of new and long term strategic initiatives related to the portfolio.
• Lead strategic cross-portfolio initiatives and projects
• Coordinate and ensure alignment of market support, training and product priorities, and centrally driven commercial and marketing initiatives to product strategy and roadmap.
• Support sales development activities related to the product portfolio.
• Through various channels, stay informed about the market and competitive situation. Continually monitor key competitors - understand new product releases, price-positioning shifts, manufacturing footprint changes, M&A interests. Communicate key findings and propose strategic actions.
• Support the product managers with the development of business cases for new product introductions or similar projects requiring investment decisions.
• Coordinate the annual price revision process ensuring target uplifts are met and that the proposals are aligned with the commercial organization.In addition leading the strategic work for the Lab ÄKTA team, this person will also lead the research strategy across hardware and resin for theBioProcess Downstream business.

• University degree in Biochemistry/Biotechnology or equivalent Life Science discipline. Masters or Ph.D. preferred.
• Strong business & technical acumen. A strong interest in commercial aspects is an essential component to be successful in this role
• Proven experience in a Life Science based business, including solid experience in product management, marketing, sales or product development.
• Understanding of the principles of protein purification preferrably allied to experience of Lab ÄKTA products and/or applications
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong analytical, process- and influencing skills - ability to motivate individuals and demonstrate organizational influence
• Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment; Good interpersonal skills and a positive and team oriented attitude and ability to work well with diverse, global and cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to manage cross functional projects in a positive and collaborative leadership style
• Some traveling will be required
