The department Global Technical Service, within Quality & Customer satisfaction (QCS) is part of the central support to the Volvo Bus Corporation (VBC) business regions and aftermarket organizations.
Global Technical Service delivers technical support in technical product related issues to our Market Clusters and importers. With onsite support to dealers and customers, Technical Service also develops and communicates service solutions and acts as a back office for TDS Technical Team in Ghent front line support.
Global Technical Service is a part of the VBC quality work in the quality process (PRP) where we are the link between the market and design departments, both within Volvo Buses and our colleagues at Group Trucks Technology.
You will be part of a team of product specialists were each have their own assigned area of responsibility.
We are now looking for a Product Specialist for Electromobility vehicles.
Role description
As Product Specialist for electromobility vehicles, components and functions you will work with all product related concerns that might occur, regarding the above on a global basis for Volvo Buses.
You will be the communicating link from our market companies and importers to the design departments within Group Truck Technology and Volvo Buses.
The location will be in Gothenburg and the job involves frequent travelling. A majority of the time is spent at the office where you work with computer based support systems, mail and phone, as well as participating in different forums.

Who are you?
To be successful in this position you need to be service minded, well organized and have excellent communication and networking skills. But most of all you are a true team player and you contribute with good team spirit.
You need to have the interest and talent to support our customers as well as investigate and report findings in a professional manner, both in writing and verbal, working in cross-functional teams. You have a deep experience from Heavy vehicles, good knowledge within Electronics combined with strong analytic skills. Sometimes you will be asked to travel alone, within and outside Europe, sometimes also with short notice - so be prepared.
As we are a truly global and diverse company, most of your meetings and emails will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. Further language skills are considered as an additional qualification.
You have an education as vehicle mechanic and upper secondary school, Technical High School or a degree from a Technical University.
Driving license for car is necessary and for bus is considered as an merit.
Beside the standard office programs we use also programs and tools such as CANalyzer, CAN/LIN interfaces and other tools.
