JOB DESCRIPTION
Axis Video Hosting System (AVHS) is an offering from Axis that gives our customers the opportunity to run their surveillance system as a Service in the Cloud. AVHS has created a huge interest in the market. In order to provide a first class product, we are now looking for a driven, enthusiastic and experienced Product Specialist to help define and roll out the offering, in close cooperation with our AVHS team.
As Product Specialist for AVHS you will work in close contact with dedicated people in both our R&D and Sales departments, to develop and maintain the product to fulfil our customer's needs. You will be responsible for the customer support for our AVHS, but will also work proactively - by producing documentation, technical notes and FAQ's.
Another important part of the job will be acting as the bridge between customers and development engineers, injecting feedback in product development projects. To do so efficiently you will interact with mainly our Hosting Providers all around the world, often by handling support cases from our offices in Lund, but also by visiting customers and partners at their own sites. The position therefore involves approximately 10-20 days travel per year.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
We believe you have a technical degree within some area of software development, and at least 3 years of work experience. You have extensive experience of Linux/Unix and broad knowledge of network management, network protocols (TCP/IP environments) and software administration in critical environments. Skills in PHP and shell scripting will be of value, as will knowledge of hosted systems or similar centralized software environments in large scale. We also believe that you are a person with problem solving abilities and a service-minded and open attitude towards colleagues and customers. You are easy to work with, and you have excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
OUR NEW BUSINESS TEAM
The New Business team is a unique group within Axis. The team is responsible for evaluating and prototyping new business ideas from both a technical and a commercial perspective. The team have both market oriented business development resources as well as product development resources. The team's focus is on ideas outside Axis current focus on Network Video. The ambition is to leverage on Axis existing expertise and capacity which will require a flexible and open co-operation with R&D and other departments.
