Wallenius Water has in collaboration with Alfa Laval developed a chemical free system, PureBallast, to treat ballast water on board vessels in order to prevent micro organisms to establish in a new marine environment. PureBallast is the first and only chemical-free ballast water treatment system in the world to have received approval by UN’s maritime organization, IMO.
We are now looking for a
PRODUCT SPECIALIST
for our Ballast Water Treatment application PureBallast
Responsibilities
As a Product Specialist you will be responsible for supporting our global sales and service organization with product and installation solutions for our Ballast Water Treatment application, PureBallast. The work includes contacts to customers, sales and service staff on a regular basis. You will be part of our Product Management group with the objective of improving our offering to our customers.
The main work tasks:
• Act as Technical Project Manager in product quality and development project,
• Support in customer dialogues for installation onboard ships,
• Product support for our sales- and service organization,
• Technical support in field test, system testing and commissioning,
• Act as trainer in internal and external training of PureBallast,
Qualifications
You have education in marine engineering and have marine experience. For this role you have at least five years experience in the field of marine engineering and/or five years of onboard experience. It is preferred that you have experience of marine products and customer dialogues. The work is focused on the installation of the system on different vessels types for newbuildings and existing vessels.
You will be employed by Wallenius Water, but this position is entirely dedicated for a company called AlfaWall. This company is owned by Wallenius Water and Alfa Laval in a joint venture and is based in Alfa Laval’s facilities in Tumba, Stockholm. The business environment is highly international so you have high skills in English both in speech and in writing. As a person you have an outgoing personality with high skills in communication and the ability to work on your own initiative. You will join a team of skilled and highly motivated colleagues and work in a challenging, fast moving and developing business. The position is based in Tumba, Sweden, but frequent travelling is required, 50 days / year.
