About the Role
The Product Safety Specialists are, within their assigned projects and activities, responsible to support and assess the safety of materials and/or products in order to meet consumer and customer needs as well as support Essity with creating value and reducing risk. The role is further responsible to act as expert and advisor about product safety towards innovation and change projects and to internal and external business stakeholders. The position have a global reach and work together with colleagues and business partners throughout the world.

What You Will Do
As a Product Safety Specialist within the General Product Safety team (absorbent hygiene products) the assigned product areas are e.g. baby and adult diapers, feminine towels and liners, tampons and menstrual cups.
Your main tasks will include:
Build effective communication with material or product suppliers for achieving the required high standards for safety assessments
Perform and document material and/or product safety assessments and communicate the results within relevant parts of the organization
Perform risk assessments of impact of relevant production process on product safety
Provide product safety guidance for our internal and external customers to ensure safe and regulatory-compliant products for the intended use
Act as an active project member in strategic and operational projects and activities
Continuously update competence and knowledge regarding product safety, toxicology and compliance with applicable regulations and deploy the knowledge within Essity
What You Have
Master's degree in chemistry, toxicology, pharmacology or equivalent
Experience in a relevant product safety field and at least 15 credits on university level in human toxicology or equivalent
Fluency in English, both written and oral
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills as well as methodological knowledge
A bonus will be additional competence in the fields of recycled materials, food contact regulations, or dermatology / allergology
We are ideally looking for a person with a few years of working experience that has a curious mindset and a flexible personality and who would like to develop in the field of product safety. You enjoy working in a global cross-functional environment with high speed and pursue tasks with diligence, energy, and a drive for valuable results.
You are a self-led person who takes responsibility for your tasks and you are motivated by taking initiative and pursuing your projects efficiently towards completion. It is an advantage to have the ability to navigate in a complex matrix organization as this will be your daily work environment.
