In this role, you will be the company's foremost expert in food safety related matters and a key leader in helping to create and promote a culture of safety excellence across the entire organization of BillerudKorsnäs. We are looking for a driven candidate who enjoys a cross-functional role and can coordinate, support and provide expertise in product safety matters to both internal and external stakeholders.
The position is full time and can be based in Solna at BillerudKorsnäs HQ or in the following site locations: Gruvön, Skärblacka, Gävle or Frövi.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Product Safety Director, you will have the overall responsibility to drive, prepare and implement BillerudKorsnäs product safety strategy. This position comprises regular travels to the production sites and you report to Director Product Management & Development in the Board Division.
Main responsibility areas include:
• Responsible for identifying, interpreting and communicating relevant food safety related legislation
• Coordinate product safety at mill level and R&D
• Support the organisation in product safety issues related to BillerudKorsnäs products Support the organisation in marketing issues and discussions with customer
• Regulatory mapping of product safety related issues with focus on food contact
• Engagement and support on non-food contact legislation for packaging
• Engagement and support on chemicals and chemical legislation
• Engagement in standardisation projects on ISO and CEN level
• Drive, prepare and implement BillerudKorsnäs product safety strategy
• Represent the company in external groups for product safety/food safety activities,
• Participate in lobbying activities
• Communication - external and internal
• Support in training and competence development
QUALIFICATIONS
Key qualifications are:
• University degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent working experience in a related field
• 10+ years' experience in the field of food contact material or related industry
• Good knowledge of the packaging industry
• Excellent knowledge in legislation for food contact materials and articles
• Well-versed in legislation for chemicals
• Knowledge/experience in medical legislation is a strong merit
• Good writing, communication and presentation skills in English is required. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

You have a high sense of responsibility and dependability and thrive in translating regulatory requirements and into practical, workable plans that forward the company's overall safety objectives. Strong interpersonal skills and a problem-solving mindset are required to work effectively and establish/maintain effective working relationships with internal/external partners.
