Global Product Safety which is part of Product Safety & Regulatory Affairs (PSRA), is a function within Business Area Speciality Chemicals. We are supporting the Business units Ethylene & Sulfur Derivatives, Surface Chemistry, Industrial Chemicals and Polymer Chemistry. We have an immediate opening for a permanent position as Product Safety Date Specialist. This position provides the cornerstone for the product safety services impacting the entire business area organization with operations in 72 countries and sales globally. In addition, in this position, data specialists are expected to continuously strive for the enhancement of data in order to facilitate the process of streamlined processes and shorter lead times.
Main responsibilities:
The primary function of this position is to be responsible for supporting the business on product safety related documents such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and labels to ensure compliance: support the business goals by providing classification, labelling advice and information to internal and external customers. The position is responsible for supporting the business on product safety related information in order to manage harmonized processes to ensure compliance with Globally Harmonized System classification and labelling standards on a global level.
• Managing completeness and quality of physical, chemical and toxicological data and assessment for classification of substances and raw materials.
• Managing substance and raw material portfolios to ensure compliance for AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals.
• Support the Business Unit in terms of documents and information.
• Responsible for maintaining expert knowledge of systems used (especially EH&S) in order to act as internal expert.
• Responsible for leading/participating in product safety related projects.
• Responsible for setting up harmonized processes within own area of responsibility in the Business Area concerning business processes and change management.

• M.Sc (or B.Sc) in chemistry or life sciences and/or corresponding relevant work experience.
• Excellent understanding of processes and systems.
• You have the ability to plan and execute own work efficiently while keeping stakeholders informed.
• Proven ability to enhance data reliability (i.e. work accurately).
• Fluent in Swedish and English (both written and spoken, additional language is considered a merit).
• Good knowledge in classifications and labeling requirements globally.
• Experience working with SAP, especially EH&S module is considered a merit.
To be successful in this position you should be a good team player that is eager to contribute. You have a good understanding of chemistry and how to work efficiently with large data sets. The role requires contact with several different functions at various levels in the company. You have the drive of making improvements and improve processes. In the work you will handle a lot of data which requires that you are accurate in your way of working.
