Product Owners
Main responsibilities of the Department
Active Safety is an area where Volvo, through continuous launching of new, innovative, and world first safety features, has positioned itself among the leaders of the automotive industry. Now the work continues to reach our ambitious vision that by 2020 no one should be killed or seriously injured in a new Volvo.
Within the department, we develop systems such as Collision Avoidance, Automatic Parking, Driver Support, Brake system Software. We develop and integrate system and functionality into a complete product, encompassing SW, HW and sensors as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar, that build a comprehensive perception of the surroundings.
The department consist of over 300 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for the development and verification of:
* Advanced Driver Assistance System
* Protective Safety
* Vehicle Motion & Stability
* Autonomous Drive Function, Software & Sensor Platform
We are now looking for several Product Owners within each above areas, where you will maximize value added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the Team Backlog from a business perspective to streamline the execution. Your focus is to maintain the technical integrity of the features/components together with the team.
Overall responsibilities
* Lead the development teams together with ScM (Scrum Master)
* Review and reprioritize the backlog as part of the preparatory work for Iteration including coordination of content dependencies with other POs, stakeholders, managers, other Agile Release Trains (ART), scrum masters, teams and the product manager
* Set vision and roadmap for the product area and protect the long term technical integrity of the features/components
* Understand the scope of the upcoming enabler work and collaborate with System and Solution Architect/Engineering to assist with decision-making and sequencing of the key technological infrastructures
* Accept or reject stories. Accepting a story includes validation that the story meets acceptance criteria and has the appropriate acceptance tests, and that it meets its Definition of Done (DoD). Doing so, assuring a level of quality
* Participate as a member of the extended Product Management team and review and contribute to the program-level vision, roadmap, and content presentations
Required qualifications
* BSc degree or higher in engineering, or equivalent experience
* Master the English language both spoken and in writing
* Business and end customer value understanding
* Driver's license B
Meritorious
* Knowledge in either of the areas of Active Safety, Vehicle Motion Controls, Protective Safety and Autonomous Drive
* Experience from working with agile development
* Experience of working in an international environment
* Knowledge of Volvo Cars development process
* Experience from project management
Personal qualities
* Ability to independently plan, drive and follow up your work towards objectives
* Significant people skills , Structured, accurate and skilled to summarize and present status of your team's work
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills: must effectively communicate with technical and non- technical teams, executive management, partners and customers
* Ability to show courage and build confidence
Recruitment Information
Location for this position is within Gothenburg/Mölndal, Sweden from where we expect you are able to work with adequate working permits. Working proficiency in the English language, speech and writing, is a requirement. Combined with the same skills in the Swedish language is considered a merit.
