Product Owner in the Value Creation Stream Simulation at Scania R&D

Do you want to develop new services and solutions for the simulation community in Scania's product development?

Scania needs to develop new technologies and products to achieve the science based environment targets. To reach this new state, the rate of change needs to increase significantly to enable development of new products in a flexible manner with drastically shortened development time. In order to achieve these ambitious targets we need to transform how we operate. We are just beginning our agile journey but our vision is clear; enable flexibility and speed to the simulation community at Research and Development.

Our value stream is responsible for the full software stack running our High Performance Compute clusters as well as supporting systems such as physical and virtual Linux environments, Simulation Product Data Management system and the software portfolio used for expert simulations.

The role
We are looking for a Product Owner to develop new services and solutions for the simulation community in Scania's product development. Our responsibilities are growing with new products and depending on your experience you will be matched with the product in our portfolio where you can contribute the most. We are learning and adapting constantly as we transform together with our stakeholders hence a probing mindset is essential. Hence, the products we manage will change over time as we evolve.

In this role you will:

• Develop the simulation capability of Scania
• Be responsible for defining product vision and roadmap, collaborating with business owners and stakeholders
• Align and coordinate product development with the Portfolio and Solution roadmap
• Break down the roadmap into refined work packages which can be developed in sprints
• Visualize progress for the roadmap to stakeholders and business owners
• Prioritize activities and own the backlog of the scrum team
• Responsible for the value achieved for end users
• Represent your product and the Value Creation Stream at Product Increment planning
• Contribute to constant improvement mindset and maintaining a safe to fail atmosphere
• Work as an interface between expert users in the simulation community and development team, but not a proxy

Qualifications

• Educational: Academic degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience
• Excellent communicational skills in English, verbally and written
• Good communicational skills in Swedish, verbally and written
• Experience from technical simulation as user or High Performance Computing as developer/technician
• Experience of Product Ownership or similar leading position
• Knowledge and interest in the agile way of working
