Avalanche Studios Group is looking for a business minded and technical Product Owner to take full ownership of the backend features and services of our games.
As Product Owner, reporting to the CTO and part of the Centra Technology group, you will drive the future product and business development of the backend ecosystem. The role involves capturing requirements from our business divisions in dialog with other Product Owners, understanding and representing the needs of our players and based on those, setting up business objectives and a corresponding technological strategy for the backend platform.
As owner of our backend platform, you will be responsible for developing the shared backend functionality of both internal and player-facing services which will be used primarily in our self-published games with millions of active users. This requires working closely with the game development teams to understand the requirements for game functionality. It involves communicating the opportunities, costs and value of various alternatives. It is also important to champion and oversee the adoption of the platform within game teams and ensure acceptance and delivery of value throughout the organisation and externally to our player base.
Required Qualifications
Experience as a Product Owner including the tasks of owning and managing a product roadmap, crafting product requirements, and specifications
Understanding of game development
Good communication skills and can explain the complex in a simple way.
Ability to lead and inspire development teams.
See IT development from a value perspective.
Understand IT-architecture and the complexity of large scale systems including how to drive projects with technical delivery.
Extensive knowledge of working in a KPI-driven environment, and delivering ROI
Experience with Live Service products, including concepts such as monetization models, transaction handling, user account management, inventory management, business intelligence gathering, user acquisition, onboarding / funnelling, GaaS, in-game stores and currencies, etc.
Desired Qualifications
Passionate about video games
Experience in software development and release management.
Experience in large scale end user CRM systems with automation, categorization and personalization.
Experience with doing forecasting and creating monthly/yearly/long term budgets
Knowledge of game platforms such as game consoles, Steam, Epic Game Store and their APIs for user management, payment, data capture, etc.
