Steering Column HW and In-house SW - let's introduce ourselves
The Steering Column HW and In-house SW group is part of the Deceleration and Steering Department, at Vehicle Platform Engineering.
Our product consists of two main areas:
* State of the art Steering Columns that keep our customers safe and enable them to have a comfortable ride.
* In-house developed Steering SW that enables Autonomous Drive (AD) and Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) capabilities as well as Driver 's Experience tunning.
We are also responsible to develop the Steer-by-Wire system that will equip future Volvo cars.
What you'll do
The Product Owner plays a pivotal role in defining the direction of the product, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality HW and SW that meets both technical and regulatory standards.
Your main responsibilities will be:
* Develop a clear vision and strategy for the Steering Column HW and In-house SW in alignment with overall product goals and company objectives.
* Understand market trends, customer requirements, and emerging technologies that are relevant to our area.
* Gather and prioritize requirements from stakeholders, including customers, attributes, engineering, and regulatory entities.
* Maintain a well-defined and prioritized product backlog, ensuring that the most valuable features are developed first.
* Work closely with quality assurance teams to define testing requirements and ensure the delivery of high-quality SW, meeting safety and regulatory standards.
* Identify and assess potential risks related to SW and HW development, such as technical challenges, resource constraints, or changes in requirements.
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on project timelines and deliverables.
* Communicate the product status and vision, priorities, and progress to all relevant parties, fostering collaboration and transparency.
What you'll bring

Education and Skills:
* MSc Degree in a relevant area (preferably Software related) or equivalent expertise.
* 5+ years of experience in a relevant technical leadership role, specifically in In-house Software and Hardware development.
* Experience from concept development.
* Proven ability to inspire, challenge, and lead teams.
* Fluent in English (written and spoken).
