Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified electronics, mechanics and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Product area Mission Avionics develops, produces, maintains and supports the products over the complete life cycle. Our customer offer is improved Situational Awareness through products such as:
• Mission Equipment (AviComp)
• Head Up Displays and (AviGuide)
• Communication Management products (AviCom)
Customers include international aircraft manufacturers and their tier 1 suppliers and partners.
Avionics Systems has a clear strategy to grow in the Avionics domain and to grow in value chain. The project manager has an important role in creating our product roadmap to ensure our products meet marketing demands and supports our growth strategy.

Avionics Systems has a clear strategy to grow in the Avionics domain and to grow in value chain. The product manager has an importan role in creating our product roadmap to ensure our products meet marketing demands and supports our growth strategy.
You will be responsible for one or more of the Mission Avionics products. Your work includes analyzing current market needs and future trends and from this knowledge define product requirements and roadmaps. You participate in the evaluation and planning of what products and product versions will be offered to the customers. One part of the evaluation is business case analysis in order to determine the complete business for the product. Product development is partly funded through own R&D investments.
To perform the task you will collaborate with the departments Marketing & Sales, Business Development & Strategy and other Product Areas - including Avionics South Africa. You will also cooperate with other Saab business areas.
We are looking for a person with good technical skills and the ability to understand and transform customer requirements to internal requirements and constraints. You are business minded, structured, and analytic and have good communication skills.

• Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a technical discipline/engineering.* Good general knowledge of avionics systems * Strong business understanding and customer focus * General understanding of business development and product development * General understanding of certification requirements and operational regulatory environment* Understanding and ability to work in an international environment and matrix organisation.* Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing..
