About the position
The position as Product Manager is a wide-ranging role for which an overall comprehension of hardware in combination with an interest and competence in commercial product development will be crucial. You will be a part of our Product Management Team consisting of one Lead Product Manager, three Product Managers and three Product Owners. The whole team reports to our Product Management Director.
As a Product Manager you are responsible for understanding the factors that affect what products Kollmorgen should have in its' future portfolio by synthesizing market trends, standards and legislation and user needs into actionable business cases. You are also responsible for taking new products to the market and making sure that they become successful through the right pricing and through working together with sales and marketing with the product value and launch material. You have the responsibility for your product line when it comes to making life cycle decisions and communicating with the right stakeholders.
The hardware portfolio consists of products such as Vehicle controllers, motor drivers, LiDAR sensors, and HMI panels which are developed in-house as well as by third parties. Understanding how the vehicle and navigation software works together will be important to set the right requirements for the hardware. It is therefore important to collaborate with the Product Manager for that product line and to be able to see the bigger picture. Most of the development teams at Kollmorgen are working according to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework), but our hardware team is also working project based
As Product Manager Hardware you will:
• Draw insights from users, trends in the market, and direct feedback from other stakeholders to deliver data-driven business cases.
• Define go-to-market strategies for new products and features, including strategic pricing as well as marketing communication plans to give sales a kick-start upon release.
• Define the requirements of a new feature or product through epics and sometimes requirement specifications.
• Follow up sales and take action when needed.
• Plan for the future hardware portfolio by considering the life cycle management, the user's needs and the market trends.
• Collaborate with, and sometimes also travel to, global customers in order to improve the understanding of customer needs.

who are passionate about your product line and understand how to move a product from idea to market. In your way of working, you are structured and understand that in order to be successful, collaboration and communication is essential, both with internal and external stakeholders.
You are passionate about data driven decision-making and you create hypos that you validate with target users and will be happy to share your knowledge about it to the rest of the organization.
Must have
To be successful in this role you:
• Have earlier experience from working as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or Project Leader. Your background can be either commercial or technical.
• Have a genuine interest in and knowledge of hardware components.
• Have previous experience from working with agile project methodologies, like SAFe and/or Scrum.
• Have previous experience from strategic pricing.
• Will be able to travel one week once per quarter in average.
Meritorious
It is a plus if you have experience of working with:
• Business model innovation.
• Patents.
• The combination of software and hardware in products.
