CNP Web is building the common web platform that soon will be the foundation for all of Schibsted's publications. It's an audacious and fun project with good velocity and high impact.
In CNP web you'll get to work with an engaged and highly skilled team of engineers, and you're placed squarely in the epicentre of the collaboration culture we're building between our diverse product- and tech teams.
The CNP web team is building a decoration API that powers the web and app front-ends, as well as the web front-end itself. Together with the tech leads, your responsibility is to make sure that as much business logic as possible can be shared between native apps and web, make sure that our publications' web pages perform at their full potential, while giving our web developers the tools they need to innovate and collaborate. You need to work closely with brands, advertising- and consumer business departments, and make sure the platform enable us to experiment, collaborate and learn from each other.
As PM for CNP Web, you're both a product manager and a community manager. The common web platform is our incubator for new ideas, and where our strategy of cross-team collaboration comes to life. You need to be adept at communication, and good at breaking down complex ideas into smaller, scalable solutions. To help you with this, you're supported by a strong, service minded technical team.
CNP is a distributed team, and you should have some experience working in or managing distributed teams. Some travelling is required.
Responsibilities include:
- Defining a roadmap, balancing user needs, business and editorial requirements and technical considerations
- Engaging with stakeholders on a regular basis - gathering input, communicating progress, setting expectations.
- Working with the team on a day-to-day basis
- Translating the roadmap into a concrete backlog and maintaining it
- Driving and facilitating planning and execution
- Looking after the well-being of the team together with your Tech Leads/ Engineering Manager
- Planning and coordinating the rollout of Hyperion and Iris for each of our publications
- Contributing to the larger CNP context
- Working with your PM/TL/UX peers in CNP to create the next generation of news sites
Requirements:
- Experience working with complex systems
- Deep insight in editorial workflow, production and end-user products
- Proven track record of launching products that solve customer problems.
- Experience in an agile development environment.
- A background in making data informed decisions using experimentation systems.
- Experience working with UX to ensure that your product truly delight your customers.
- Very strong stakeholder management skills with experience presenting to all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to travel once or twice a month to meet members of your distributed team and stakeholders face to face
