At Volvo Cars our mission is clear: "To be the world's most progressive and desired premium car company and to make people's life less complicated". We have bold targets when it comes to innovation, sales and customer satisfaction and to make this happen, we need talented people on-board. People that want to make a difference and create the next generation Volvo cars in a global, dynamic and respectful environment.
The Base Software product stream is responsible all the way from research and advanced engineering to implementation, verification and validation of current and future Electrical System.
Base Software consist of over 900 ambitious and skilled engineers and is responsible for;
* Enabling Base Technologies
* Power and Energy
* Electrical Infrastructure
* Core System Platform
* Comfort Functions
* Body Functions
For each of these areas we have started an Agile Release Train (ART).
We are looking for a Product Manager for the Enabling Base Technologies ART. You will be responsible for the product contribution from your program - the Agile release train (ART) - working to maximize the value added work by owning and deciding upon priorities in the program backlog from a technical and business perspective as well as developing the program Vision and Roadmap.
Together with other engineers around the world, you and your colleagues will create innovative human centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. Do you share our passion for people, the environment and our urge to create the best electrical platform for upcoming driving needs? Research and Development is the place for you to prosper.
What will you do?
Do you want to work in a challenging but exciting position of Volvo Cars? You will work in close cooperation with the Release Train Engineer for each Agile Release Train (ART) and lead one of the ART's development together.
You will:
* Lead the product owners and make clear backlog-driven development
* Collaborate and set expectations with product owners, stakeholders, customers and architects
* Balance the backlog from multiple directions: stakeholders, managers, LPM and product owners
* Prioritize features and negotiate enablers in the program backlog
* Set vision and roadmap for the ART
* Actively participate in the management team for the Solution Train Base Software
What do you need to have?
To be successful in this job, we see that you have at least 5 years of relevant work experience. What is relevant? It could be that you have worked as a program manager for software or similar. You have SW or electrical engineering development experience, and preferably in an agile environment (we love agile!). A university degree can always be a good thing - especially for this position within computer science or engineering, but if you have equivalent experience that's fine too.
Your job is to motivate and keep a large group of skilled people working towards a common goal in the ART. To be able to do that we see that you have managerial experience from before, this is not a first-time job as a leader - you need to have hands-on practice.
We are a global company, so if you have worked in an international environment before that is something we value! And for that reason, you must master the English language.
You are inclusive, communicative, team oriented, customer focused. One part of the job as we see is that you are committed to participate actively in the management team for the section. Be self-motivated. If you are - you will be rewarded with greater freedom of work.
You are curious and continuously searching for new knowledge! We like a hands-on approach to problems - learn by doing! Find new and better ways, and motivate teams to do so as well.
