The product manager for Automation will focus on maximising the business value from the Automation product family. The first mission will be to bring an autonomous truck to the market. In this role, you will create compelling value arguments and material for the customer centers to use when selling to customers. Other key responsibilities include gathering market intelligence, analysing technology needs and pricing levels. Creating a future vision for the product line, maintaining strategic product plans covering three horizons. The product manager's role is to be the voice of the customer and be passionate about the user experience of the Automation products. This will be fed into the organization by chairing a cross functional product team. The product manager will work closely with our R&D department and colleagues in Rocktec division to help realize new developments centred on "right product, right price and right time".
Your work will also be to develop the business with regards to increase sales and maintain the product family. You will work with our customer centers around the world to establish, plan and carry out marketing and sales activities. An important part of your work is to establish product strategies which will serve as a base for our product development and future product portfolio.
Main responsibilities:
In this position, your work tasks will cover the following areas, and more:
• Analyse business developments, monitor market trends and competitor activities.
• Support Atlas Copco customer centers in major tenders, product application and in the provision of training in all aspects of the product.
• Establish and maintain product strategies within your range of products.
• Produce and maintain sales material and value based sales arguments.
• Support and train Area Managers and customer centers to improve product knowledge, application knowledge, sales arguments and competitor information.
• Develop and maintain Machine Order templates and a pricing structure (IP) related to product performance and benefits.
• Be responsible for product cost analysis and development.
• Collect and interpret information on customers' present and future needs, and translate this information into Market Demand Specifications for product development projects.
• Be active as a member of product development teams.
• Be prepared to assume project leadership for pre-studies and minor projects.
• Contribute to achieve the consolidated sales and profitability targets.
Additional information:
You must be prepared to travel up to 50 days per year.

A technical or marketing qualification (or equivalent experience) is essential. Experience in the construction or mining sectors is highly desirable.

Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation (URE) has a large program of machines used in tunneling and underground mining operations, for example drill rigs, bolting rigs, concrete spraying equipment, loaders and mine trucks. The equipment is used all around the world, normally in very harsh environments with high demands on safety, reliability and productivity. They are available in various technology levels, from simple to fully autonomous with diesel and/or electric drive trains.
