At Nordic Entertainment Group, we entertain millions of people every day through our streaming services, radio networks, TV channels and production companies. From live sports and films to music and our own original shows, our purpose is to tell stories, touch lives and expand worlds. We're now launching our Viaplay streaming service in a wide range of new markets and aiming to become the international streaming challenger. As a Nordic company with a global perspective and clear values, we're looking for the best people to join us on our journey.

We're looking to grow our Engineering department with the help of a couple additional Product Managers. If you think you have what it takes - send us your application today!

The Position
As a Product Manager at Viaplay you will be responsible for identifying what will create the most value for our customers and our business. We're looking for a Product Manager with solid leadership skills that can work with our engineers in cross-functional teams, and business stakeholders to handle any challenge ahead. Your role will be to focus on the bigger picture, taking a holistic view of the full system and support the team to reach aligned autonomy by providing clarity and purpose.

You will work closely to one or two engineering teams, being a part of the day to day work. With the team you will create roadmaps, prioritize different work tasks, and facilitate forward-leaning discussions that lead the work to develop new and improved capabilities through the full product development cycle; from discovery to ideation and launch, to validation and further iterations. We trust you and your team to find your own way forward to solve the problems ahead.

We believe in team involvement and autonomy, where diverse points of views are reflected, and broad expertise shape the system. In this role you will support a data-driven product organisation, using experimentation and validation as part of product process. All of this work happens together with the team along with support functions in the organization.

As a Product Manager within Engineering you will work closely with other Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and VP of Engineering to create value for internal customers and stakeholders, creating the capabilities to build a high-quality end-user product.

You will become part of an amazing company with great people, content, and culture.

Who and what we are looking for:
• A product leader with good communication skills and experience working in a complex setting, with high demand for collaboration.
• Experience within Product Management, Product Ownership or work in similar roles.
• The ability to define goals, build a strategic roadmap, create clarity, and organizational engagement towards them.
• Interest in the product manager craft, and focused evolvement of your understanding of the techniques and methods of modern product discovery and product delivery.
• Experience working with user insights, both quantitative and qualitative to understand customer problems and validate impacts.
• A curious mindset and a positive attitude towards problem-solving. You aim for something better, and question what we take for granted.
• Ability to design mechanisms to make better decisions, and have the skill to course correct given new information.
• Engagement in working on both an operational and a strategic level.
• A general interest in technology and systems, understanding that tech plays an important role in the way forward.
• Knowledge around agile methodologies.

We offer you
• Freedom to try out new things and independent decision-making by our autonomous teams.
• A place with high trust where we grow and learn from our mistakes. We have a learning and development focused environment with an emphasis on knowledge sharing, training and regular internal technical discussions.
• A supportive leadership team where book clubs and article sharing happens frequently.
• Hack days two times a year.
• An international and diverse environment with people from all over the world working here. We have 35+ different nationalities in the office coming from different backgrounds.
• An attractive offer with a beneficial occupational pension plan, insurance plan, health care, 30 days of paid vacation, flexible work hours and parental leave pay lift.

The journey ahead
In the last year, we have brought Viaplay to Iceland, the Baltics, Poland, the US and will go live in the Netherlands and UK in 2022. By the end of 2023, we will be live in 16 countries.

As a key enabler of scale, Engineering will be taking a leading role in this exciting journey. Part of this will be to shape the future of the Viaplay Platform, underlying systems, and ways of working.

We believe that self-leadership and a do-it-yourself attitude will be important to influence positive change and create an environment where every person in our organization feels enabled and trusted to take on any challenges that comes our way.
