The Scanning Engines Teams
The Scanning Engines team is a product delivery team that today consists of 8 developers and a Product Manager. The team is responsible for turning security research into insights for our customers, from exploring our customers' web applications to running vulnerability tests at scale. Due to the large scope of the team it will now be split in two - and we're looking for a Product Manager to one of these teams. Which team this PM will join depends on the experience and interest of the applicant.
The first team will be responsible for Application Discovery, making sure that we discover/crawl our customers' websites in the best way and least amount of time, while ensuring that customers understand which parts of their applications we have scanned. The remaining Scanning Engines team will make sure that customers can successfully run scans with the right setup, we can run vulnerability tests at scale in a resource and time-efficient way and that customers understand what we tested for in a scan.
All teams at Detectify follow agile and DevOps practices, such as continuous integration/deployment, application monitoring, and are keen on perpetual improvement and knowledge sharing. You build it, you own it.
What you'll get to do
The Product Manager maximizes the value that the team is delivering via prioritization, coordination and scope definition. A Product Manager acts as a business-oriented part of the technical team, facilitating development by communicating business goals and advocating end-user interests. As a Product Manager you are responsible for alignment of the backlog with the product strategy and long-term roadmap, creating clear scope definitions and success criteria and overseeing a smooth launch process. You will be working closely with your cross-functional team and other Product Managers as well as stakeholders from Marketing, Customer Success and Sales.
Your typical weeks at work will include:
Planning and prioritising the backlog, finding a perfect balance between new business initiatives, technical debt and bugs
Figuring out the requirements together with the team and writing univocal, non-technical acceptance criteria
Monitor progress, remove blockers, and communicate status updates to the relevant stakeholders
Being part of the release processes, making sure that the acceptance criteria are met and that the stakeholders are happy
Continuously work to deeply understand our user needs, our competition and agile process knowledge
Who you are
A driver, planner and communicator, who understands how SaaS companies work, and has an interest in building products that will be used by thousands of our customers.
You have the business interest at heart and are a natural at talking to technical people
You care about details and finds it interesting to understand the "why"
You have at least 2 year of experience as a Product Manager or similar roles
You are familiar with Agile ways of working are comfortable leading backlog refinements and planning
You have a demonstrated track record in leading without authority and planning and executing development initiatives
As an informal leader you bring an inclusive, supportive and collaborative spirit to the team
