As Product Manager for Tophammer Cab Machines your overall responsibility will be to create the SED product portfolio for the future while maintaining and improving the current product base to secure competitiveness. In this role, your responsibilities will, for instance, be to:
• Monitor key industry trends and conduct market surveys. Interpret/Summarize information about present and future customer needs.
• Collect and maintain updated competitor information together with relevant sales argument.
• Create a long term product development roadmap to meet the demand of the future.
• Maintain current product portfolio and improve function, quality and cost based on market needs.
• Generate specifications and business cases for product development projects/product updates.
• Responsible for product pricing and product cost analysis & development.
• Safe-guard first in class Total Cost of Ownership and a sustainable environmental focus for the product range.
• Support communications department with value based sales arguments, technical data, features and benefits
• Assume role of application specialist/segment champion for Quarry segment.
• Provide product and application support then educate the global sales force on key selling features and benefits.
• Initiate and drive product launches and sales campaigns.
• Be an active member/sub project leader of product development project teams and assume project leadership for pre-studies and minor projects.
You must be prepared to travel some 50 - 75 days/year.
Experience requirements
In order to succeed in this role you need a minimum of 3 years in sales, service and/or R&D engineering experience in this area of responsibility. Furthermore, you need a minimum of 3 years working with construction and/or mining industry customers. Experience with Tophammer machines and GPS positioning systems is considered a plus. Experience from product marketing and project management is also considered a plus.
Educational requirements
A University degree in a relevant field, or similar through experience and a very good command of the English language.

Moreover, you are able to develop a good understanding of the market requirements, and implement appropriate solutions. You need to be skilled in efficient communication and establishing team-work and cooperation with different parts of the organization as well as in a multi-cultural environment. A successful product manager is customer focused and goal oriented with a strong personal drive and has an ability to work under pressure.
Surface and Exploration Drilling (SED) is a division within Business Area Mining and Rock Excavation Technique. The division has operations in Örebro, Yokohama, Nanjing, Nasik, and Bagnolo. The division develops, manufactures and markets globally a wide range of rock drilling equipment for different applications in construction, exploration and mining.
You will be based at SED PC Örebro. The product company is a fairly small unit located in the outskirts of Örebro City, only 5 km outside of the city centre. The size of the PC allows for a lot of crossfunctional dialogue where all stakeholders are accessible, making dialogue around details fast and pragmatic. Being a small unit also fosters a familiar atmosphere where all employees, from management to the assemblers hold the end result and the customer satisfaction first. The location itself allows for easy access to tracks for running during lunch or paths for taking a quick ride on your bike to gather your thoughts.
