We are now looking for a Product Manager to join our Solutions & Applications team within the System & Services department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Product Manager you will have the main responsibility for camera/encoder capabilities that enhance the value of our software solutions. You will manage the entire life cycle - from strategic planning to tactical activities. As Product Manager Application Capabilities you will have high focus on understanding the software applications and the needs in the cameras/encoders that enables additional value to these solutions. You will drive new capabilities from existing ideas until they are launched together with our solutions.
You will work in a team of product managers that are responsible for Axis software solutions. You will work closely with the other product managers to get input on the camera/encoder capabilities needed in Axis software applications. It is important for you to understand the different applications and their needs and you must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. Within R&D you will work with Project Managers to define the use cases requirements and with an Engineering Manager to plan implementation plans and future development. You will work with the Solution Product Managers and marketing department to define the solution go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the key benefits, and target customer.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Excellent understanding of the competition and market needs
• Excellent understanding of Axis software solutions
• Take an active part in market and sales activities to promote our solutions
• Inform and train the sales force at new firmware launches and new software application launches
• Contribute in the definition of the solution strategies
• Define camera/encoder capabilities to meet and fulfill the solution strategy and roadmaps
• Understanding and communicating the complete solution to R&D teams
The position requires travelling around 20 days a year
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a person with excellent teamwork skills and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams. You are social and able to manage and perform in a high paced, multi-cultural environment with international contacts. You have a structured way of approaching and solving tasks and issues, yet a flexible mindset, and you are always open to customers and colleagues.
Furthermore, we believe that you:
• Have a technical university degree including software development as one component
• Have at least 10 years of working experience with a few years of software development
• Are open to business and market dynamics
• Have documented experience from working with solutions close to the market
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are fluent in English.
It is also an advantage if you have:
• Technical knowledge about Axis software solutions and cameras.
• Technical knowledge about Video Management Systems.
• Knowledge in software development processes and good understanding from networks and integrated solutions.
THE SYSTEM & SERVICES DEPARTMENT
System & Services is globally responsible for the service offering and technical solutions support. This includes product management for capabilities and solutions, design and coordination responsibility for service and support offerings, project sales support and partner interface in technical and connected strategic matters. Solutions & Applications is one out of five groups within System & Services.
