The Engine Development department within Volvo CE is the centre for development of off-road engines and engine auxiliary components. We are responsible for the mechanical design, performance development and the auxiliary component development of the engines installed in our Construction Equipment, e.g. Articulated Haulers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders and Road & Utility Machinery.

Engine System Team
Our Engine System Team provides assistance to external and internal customers. We are responsible for product maintenance, engine interface, software strategy and calibration as well as all software and dataset deliveries within Advanced Engineering, New Product Development and Product Maintenance. We cover a wide range of engine sizes, emission classes and applications such as Wheel loaders, Articulated Haulers and Excavators.

Because the best off road engines in the world need to include the best product maintenance we want to strengthen our team with a Product Maintenance Engineer.

Main activities and responsibilities
As a Product Maintenance Engineer within the Engine System team you will advise our Global Tech Support Teams as an expert in all engine related questions. Depending on the type of problem this might include investigation and interpretation of fault reports and logs, customer visits as well as machine and rig tests. The focus of your work is hereby on software functionality and calibrations.
You will be responsible for a group of engine sizes and applications. For these engines you will be the main contact and lead the investigation until the final solution has been implemented in production. In your work you will be supported by a number of experts from the Engine System as well as other teams.
A precondition for your successful work will be a close cooperation with the other Product Maintenance Teams all over the world.

Key skills
Profound understanding of internal combustion engines, exhaust after treatment systems & electrical hardware
High customer focus
Ability to work independently on complex topics combined with team working skills
Leadership skills
Detailed knowledge about Construction machinery
High ability to plan and structure work
Experience of participating in global teams
Excellent spoken and written English
Additional language skills are beneficial (Swedish, German, French, etc)
Travel up to 30%

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
M.Sc. in Engineering or significant experience from work with diesel engines and construction machinery
Product maintenance or engine development experience is beneficial
