Who are we and what can we offer?
Our organization, the Controlling & Product Finance organization, is an important function to secure long-term profitability within the truck division. As the Product Finance Engineer (PFE) Director Gothenburg, you will be a part of the global management team of Cost Engineering and Product Cost and report to the Global Cost Engineering and Product Cost VP.
The position aims at creating a high performing seamless team at the site in Product Cost Management. You will be doing this in cooperation with global functions and ensure both local and global deliveries. Our team in Gothenburg consists of highly professional people; we are conducting work independently in development and sourcing projects for new, as well as existing, trucks.
You will be directly responsible to manage the Product Finance Engineer team and the roles of PFE and CE are global and exist in Sweden, France, Brazil, India and US.
Main role & Responsibilities:
Your main responsibility will be to lead, engage and support the people around you. You will lead the Product Cost Management process at vehicle and powertrain level (Chassis & Vehicle Dynamic, Cab, Electricity & Electronic, engine, transmission and Axle) from early development phase to maintenance phase. Your other responsibilities will include to:
Secure product cost deliveries in Techno, Vehicle Streams and in Product Projects
Further develop the collaboration with Engineering, Purchasing and other line organizations involved in the development process to optimize the product cost of our products securing Volvo Group profitability
Secure Material Cost Evolution reporting for defined Actual Reference Vehicles & components
Develop an efficient PFE team and secure high competence level in product cost management
Contribute to the development of processes and IT tools
Active member of the CE&PFE Global management team
Drive and foster a product cost culture

Other critical Competencies for the position:
Master's degree in technology and/or Business Administration
Many years of experience as line manager in a global environment
Working through collaboration, driving engagement, instilling trust and building effective teams
Strong interest in Truck Technologies
Fluent in written and spoken English
