The section Ergonomics at Volvo Cars is fully responsible for leading and developing the complete vehicle within the area of physical ergonomics and has a strong focus on customer needs.

As Analysis Engineer you will take part of attribute development, requirement and method development. You will create restriction geometries and analyse requirements in all major car programs. In this special role you will also work with methods and evaluations in our 3D Virtual Reality CAVE as one of our visualisation tool.
You will also participate in benchmark activities and perform clinics and analyse customer feedback. You will be part of the Ergonomic team that will provide the expertise regarding both human geometry of our global customers as well as knowledge about their environment and usage of our products.

For Ergonomics the challenge consists of developing, defining and communicating requirements that reflects expectations and needs of our future customer. The four main attribute areas in which we develop requirements & methods for simulation and virtual testing are:
1. Seating comfort
2. Visibility
3. Daily Life Usage
4. Occupant Accommodation and Roominess

You are going to be part of a strong team that consists of Attribute Leaders who in close co-operation with Analysis Engineers and Visualization experts together secure our deliveries.

Main responsibilities

1. 3D Visualization of our cars and competitors
2. Lead method development within 3D Visualization for Ergonomics
3. Prepare Digital design models for ergonomic evaluations
4. Analyse fulfilment of requirements on products (cars, systems, components)
5. Create restriction geometries
6. Perform analysis as basis for attribute requirements.
7. Monitor and evaluate tools for 3D visualization from an ergonomic point of view.
8. Develop and ensure that adequate analysis and verification methods (virtual) exist to technically describe and measure the customer experience as well as to verify target fulfillment.

You and your skills

We see that you have a B.Sc.in Engineering, oriented towards Ergonomics or equivalent is a plus. You have at least 3 years of work experience.

Since we are a global company you must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. You have a driver license, and preferably you love cars as much as we do.

You have knowledge from work in Catia V5 - Especially from Surfaces, and have good skills in 3D visualisation, i.e Deltagen, 3d Studio max, Maya, Alias or similar.

This is what you must have, but what is nice to have?

* Knowledge of Teamcenter as well as experience from Volvo Car Group's common internal systems.

* Experience from vehicle ergonomics or complete vehicle engineering (such as SAE J826 Measuring Vehicle Seating Accommodation).

* Experience from Digital Human Modelling tools, for example Ramsis.
