About the position
As Product Engineer, you will be part of the Product Engineering & Development Team, which is responsible for the Ecophon portfolio of solutions through their lifecycle. The Product Engineering and Development Team is part of the R&D and Innovation Department of Ecophon, and you will evolve in an international environment with contacts around the world. You will work in close cooperation with our different production sites, suppliers, testing and certification institutes across Europe, as well as our sales offices and customers worldwide. The position is based at Saint-Gobain Ecophon AB, in Hyllinge, Sweden.
The Product Engineer is the technical owner of an assigned part of our product range, and is responsible for example for their specifications, compliance as well as their documentation. As the technical owner, the Product Engineer is the preferred point of contact for all technical topic concerning their products, with our production, sales, or marketing teams. We are currently looking for a Product Engineer to oversee, among other things, our suspension systems (grids), which are manufactured in three locations in Europe and sold worldwide.
The tasks of the position are varied and include for example:
Technical ownership of assigned product ranges: ensure compliance, maintain up-to-date information and documentation
Ownership of production specification of assigned finished products and including associated components and raw materials
Continuous improvement projects of assigned product range, with a particular focus on customer experience and sustainability (ecodesign)
Technical benchmarking of solutions
Training and support to the rest of the organisation on specific technical areas
Profile
We are looking for a candidate with higher education with a technical or engineering degree and relevant practical experience, preferably in the construction or building materials industry. You have a strong technical and mechanical understanding, and competence in CAD software is seen as mandatory, together with excellent written and spoken English.
As a person, you must show strong communication skills and be able to work in a structured and organised way. You are a "doer" that can manage several tasks and missions simultaneously without losing focus on the details. You must be comfortable with autonomous work as much as structured project organisations. You will be interacting with many people, therefore we appreciate open-minded and easy-going personalities with strong presentation skills.
