Development Tech Center, DTC, functions in an international environment and works closely with our customers which are well known car manufactures as well as colleagues from around the world. DTC is responsible for achieving body parts to be manufactured by Gestamp within a cost efficient process free from interruptions. In other words to suggest the best compromise between a stable process and cost savings, as well as warn for potential risks. DTC are also involved in the development and industrializing of new technologies and improvements of existing ones.
As a Product Engineer within DTC you will be responsible for assessing the process and production feasibility of press hardened products from our customers. You are also responsible to indentify potential problems as early as possible in the development process and proactively recommend product changes that will lead to a cost efficient production.
You will also actively follow and give feedback on activities and decisions taken within the project team that can affect the projects ability to reach defined targets both in quality and cost.
The Product Engineer supports the cross functional project teams, program managers and divisions in press hardened related topics. This includes presentations regarding press hardened parts and process as well as conducting product reviews together with customers in regards of forming feasibility and process robustness.
Another part of your job will be to lead and support in new technology development projects together with specialists from other parts of the company.
Qualifications
M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Experience in product and process development as well as high technological materials are preferrable, but not a demand. It is important that you are analytic, structured, have good communication skills and are able to take initiatives. Excellent verbal and written skills in English and Swedish are important. Knowledge in other languages such as German, Spanish and French are desirable.
