hela Sverige The Global R&D/E function within Sandvik Mining and Construction (SMC) is now looking for a Product EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) Legislation Specialist.
This position will preferably be located in Sandviken, Sweden, but other locations are possible. You will work in an international environment and some travelling will be required. You will report to Manager Product Development Process.
Key performance areas
The goal of the position is to become the motor behind competence development with respect to Product Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) legislation, directives and standards and customer organizations? requirements. The Product EHS Legislation Specialist will also promote the development of a system to support the identification and selection of relevant requirements, in order to optimize the safety and overall performance of our products and ensure that SMC delivers world-class products with reference to current and future requirements.
Competence development, adaption of work processes and support for the different Product Development Centers in meeting new Product EHS legislation are some other areas the Product EHS Legislation Specialist is responsible for.
As a specialist, a part of the job will be to provide knowledge, advice and training on the interpretation of European, Australian, American, and other local Product EHS requirements for new and existing products. It is also expected that the position will monitor the global development of Product EHS legislation, directives and standards. The position will play an important role in contributing to and supporting the SMC staff in the development of safe, ergonomically and environmentally friendly products.
Your profile
As the ideal candidate for this position you have a university degree in a technical area, thorough knowledge of Product EHS legislation, directives and standards and experience from a similar position. Experience from working in a global environment and/or with complex systems/machinery is highly valued.
You are familiar with relevant directives, legislation, ISO standards, and Australian and other national safety standards, such as those of ANSI. You have excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain the context and interpretation of legislation in discussions with people who have a broad range of technical experience and different cultural backgrounds. You like to coach and advise.
To succeed in this position you will need to have strong personal motivation, excellent self-confidence and the ability to take a holistic view. As a person you are flexible and a strong ambassador, and enjoy achieving your goals through networking. Fluency, both written and verbal, in English is a prerequisite.
