About the role

A Product Director, is of vital importance to ensure that the product is consistent with the company's overall Vision, Objectives and Strategies. Product Directors are accountable for bringing our products to the market. Focusing on our customers problems, they stand to represent a feasible business opportunity for the product to follow.

The Product Director is responsible for maintaining the standard of product managers. This role has the primary responsibility of staffing and coaching Product Managers. As a Product Director, coaching and mentoring product managers is an important aspect of the role. The goal of coaching product managers is to help them become effective and successful in their role to contribute to the success of the product portfolio and the company as a whole, and offer professional growth opportunities.

The role plays a critical role in ensuring roadmap transparency and delivery accountability, which involves communicating the product roadmap, plans, and progress to relevant stakeholders in a clear and transparent manner.

As a person you are

Equally passionate about market trends, the inner workings of our customers' businesses, and product innovation from vision and strategy to user research. You have a clear and methodical approach to collecting quantitative and qualitative data points to set the right strategy and priorities, and coach and inspire Product Managers to join research, listen, challenge and act upon findings. You are a servant leader to your team and a team player in the broader product team, who is conscious that we continuously need to make tradeoffs across the product portfolio and appreciate broader perspectives. You have the energy and the passion to keep yourself and the team energised and continue our journey when we stumble, learn, and try a better path.

What you'll be doing

• Product area leadership and accountability of the product area contributing toward the company vision and goals with defined value and performance metrics known to the team and the organisation

• Create, communicate and own your product area's vision, strategy and short-term roadmap in close collaboration with product managers and stakeholders.

• Continuously assess your product area's state in light of market developments and uncovered technical constraints and adapt your area's strategy accordingly with your PMs - while ensuring transparency and alignment with the rest of the organisation

• Ensure your product area's alignment to the ICP with regards to the overall portfolio strategy

• Ensure field and sales enablement is in place for your product area in cooperation with product marketing, customer success, and sales engineering and enablement, and other relevant stakeholders

• Evangelise products incl. participation in strategic pre-sales opportunities and QBR's with key partners and customers

• Create a clear and comprehensive product roadmap together that outlines the plans and objectives for the product portfolio.

• Regularly communicate the product roadmap to relevant stakeholders, including customers, stakeholders, and the wider team to build trust and alignment and ensure that everyone is aware of the plans and progress, including any changes, mitigation plans, and achievements

• Establish a culture of delivery accountability, where product managers together with the delivery teams are responsible and accountable for their actions and outcomes, are prepared to make decisions, and take actions to ensure that the product is delivered successfully

• Encourage feedback and input from stakeholders, including customers and team members, to ensure that the product roadmap is aligned with their needs and priorities

• Ensure that Product Managers understand their goals and objectives

• Provide guidance and support to team members in the development of their product management skills and knowledge incl. needed skills for acting in the role as a Product Manager in a Scrum team.

• Encourage and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the product team

• Encouraging team members to take on challenging projects and responsibilities to help them develop their skills and build their confidence.

What you'll bring to the team

• 5+ years working with strategic product management in a SaaS software organisation

• Proven leadership and people management experience

• Ability to inspire and motivate key stakeholders through involvement and knowledge sharing

• Advanced knowledge of Product Management processes, tools, and associated frameworks, strategic product planning/Ideation, user personas, etc.

• Strong understanding of customer/stakeholder relationships, business analysis, requirements documentation, prioritization, and estimation

• Leadership skills for driving alignment and excitement around product vision, strategy and roadmap, and the current value proposition

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

• Self-starter, thriving in uncertain environments

• Well-organized with critical and creative thinking

• Have a growth mindset and continuous self-improvement spirit

• Fluent in written and spoken English
