Sandvik Powder Solutions AB, within SMT, is a subsidiary of the Sandvik Group specialized in materials technology solutions and a world leader in products based on powder metallurgy. We manufacture custom-made components in weights from 100 grams to 15 tons in high-concentration steel, nickel and cobalt alloys. Our customers are found throughout the world in sectors such as oil and gas, manufacturing and power generation.

We are now looking for a New Product Development Manager, based in Surahammar, Sweden.

Key performance areas
As Product Development Manager you take part in our journey to maintain and strengthen our position as world leading technology suppliers of products based on powder technology. You take full ownership of a product portfolio. Acting from customer and market needs you bring this input into the company to ensure we maintain and raise our value proposition to the market and our customers. You must professionally represent Sandvik and provide a 'world class' level of customer service during all stages of the sales process.

A few things in detail
* Drive full cycle projects from product development to follow up sessions with customers
* Be responsible for the Application development portfolio at Sandvik Powder Solutions including implementing a "Gate-Review" process with monthly portfolio meetings. Lead application development projects in collaboration with customers
* Participate in marketing campaigns, conferences, exhibitions and customer visits etc.
* Participate in formulation of technical marketing material
* Technically support Sandvik Powder Solutions's products for our end users and our internal and external sales channels
* Coordinate resources in multiple departments to not only fulfill all business requirements but also achieve price development objectives
* Support the sales department in creating detailed business proposals
Traveling will be required, approximately 50-75 days per year.

You hold a MSc. degree in Engineering and have a few years' experience in a technical sales capacity and a strong interest in a sales career. Experience with the offshore industry, oil and gas and nuclear segments is a plus, as is experience in marketing. Proficiency in Mainframe Systems - SAP, MOVEX, Monitor, etc. are advantageous. To succeed in this position you will also need to be a good communicator, with excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

To be successful in this role you have the ability to build, develop and maintain good customer relations, and fully understand and act on customer needs. This as you are the bridge between the customer and the company, feeding customer input and requirements into the company. You are business orientated, skilled in handling numbers as product costings calculations, creation of budget, etc. In short you are knowledgeable technically (and we can train you in our specific materials and products), but also have the customer interaction and business acumen to identify value we can provide our customers. To succeed with this you must also be a good team player who establishes effective and constructive collaboration internally.
Additionally you are self-motivated and has a good understanding of technology. You must be structured, enjoy working responsibly on your own and have a well-developed ability to prioritize, follow up and conclude deals.
