hela Sverige The Product Development team for Self Aligning Bearings is responsible to develop products and solutions for SRB, SRTB, CARB and SABU product families, and contribute to bring them into the market, working in close cooperation with Product Management, Industries and Sales.
The team is also responsible to develop the Self Aligning Bearings product theory and technical knowledge, acting as the most qualified product expert within and outside the company.
As a Product Development Engineer for Self Aligning Bearings you will act to deploy the above team responsibilities running advanced Product Development operations like root cause failure analysis in strict cooperation with customers, calculations and simulations and more.
Your day-to-day work
• Capture market and industry needs by working closely together with customers, Sales, Product Management, Industries etc.
• Drive development projects and introduce new products and solutions to the market, in close cooperation with Product Management and Sales
• Develop product theory, build product competence and document, maintain and spread this
• Work close together with Process Development and Bearing Operations, to optimize the design for manufacturing and design for cost
• Perform product verifications and validations, in cooperation with the Global testing organization
• Ensure products specifications fulfilling SKF quality and performance demands
• University degree in engineering or equivalent work experience, with a broad technical understanding and interest
• Proven track record in Project management
• Solid business understanding with a genuine "outside-in" mind
• Experienced in product development and analytical engineering tasks, such as product functions behavior in relation to tolerance setting, mathematical and statistical evaluation
• Knowledge in computer based engineering tools and simulations
• Experience and knowledge in machine component testing as well as bearing application technology will be considered a plus
• Good facilitation and communication skills with fluency in English and Swedish
