The role
We are looking for a Product Designer who has experience in designing for data rich products and has strong data visualisation skills creating engaging dashboards for users. You have well established user centred design and research techniques and a focus on accessibility in your design process. If you have experience working with commercial data visualisation tools that would be a benefit.
The successful candidate will collaborate daily with Product Managers and Engineers in a trio format towards building best in class solutions. At Sea we embolden a bottom-up collective ownership of the product, so the designer filling this role will be encouraged to be the "voice of design" within the product team.
Role responsibilities
• Design end-to-end flows and product experiences with a strong focus on data visualisation and dashboards
• Concept creation and prototyping in Figma of potential dashboard solutions
• Discovery user research: including exploring potential design solutions and conducting user interviews to validate with customers and competitior analysis of data visualisation products in the market
• Collaboration with a cross-functional team of Product Managers and Engineers to create the best designs based on findings from research and customer feedback
• Collaborating and consulting with other designers and engineers, to effectively co-develop and update the Design System to meet our users data visualisation needs as well as take into account technological restrictions
• Apply and develop design thinking principles, methodology and practice to deliver value
• Collaboration with other UX Designers across product teams
Skills and experience
• Designing with and visualising data in products - strong data visualisation skills and experience with data visualisation tools to create elegant dashboards for users
• Up to date with industry trends and Figma best practices. Understanding of React and Material UI (MUI) possibilities and limitations would be preferable, but not essential
• Excellent prototyping skills using Figma to validate concepts
• User research skills and user interviewing experience in discovery and design phase to identify user needs and understand customer painpoints
• Experience working as a UX/UI/Product Designer within small product teams collaborating with Product Managers and Engineering
• Experience as a designer in a B2B enterprise workflow software product environment would be preferable, but not essential
• Good understanding of UX and service design methods and experience collaborating with other UX designers across product teams within a platform
