We already have a great team in place and we want to continue to learn and evolve as we grow.
We are looking for a Product Design Manager to join our growing team. Being a design leader at Mentimeter means you play a big part in shaping our team, the way we work, how we define our roles and how we help people grow and succeed, while coaching the crafting of the product experience together with our partners in Product and Engineering.
The role has equal focus on three dimensions:
Hiring and coaching designers in our core product teams
Strategic design focus - partnering with Product Leadership & business development
Part of Design leadership - evolving and driving improvements within the design function
We strongly believe in the power of the empowered product team, and we are building an organisation and processes to ensure a high level of alignment, focus on outcomes and contextual support from leadership to enable great work to happen.
Succeeding in this role means a few things:
Being a servant leader and coach to the designers working in your team - helping them succeed and grow as individuals and team players
Facilitating and guiding the strategic dimensions of product experience design to help guide the product into the unknown realms of engaging interactions
Role modeling and empowering the collaboration and partnership that is the foundation of the cross functional team
Actively being part of - as well as inspiring others to contribute - the always improving ways of working in the design craft, from Design Critique best practices to inspirational perspectives on the craft of Design, and everything in between

Skills & Requirements
To thrive in this role as a Product Design Manager, we believe you are someone who loves the craft of design, has a solid background doing the work, but has found the passion of enabling others to succeed in their design craft. You are still passionate about design as a craft and care about the details of digital product design, but your focus lies in coaching and critiquing, and exploring design on a strategic level.
You are triggered by scaling design - as a craft, as a team and as a function within the product organization. Coming from a product organization, you feel comfortable around change and thrive when trusted to drive part of this change in a growing team and organisation.
Of course you are someone passionate about the space of presentation software, innovative digital solutions and the realm of Software as a Service, eager to keep up with industry trends and thinking about the future experiences of engaging interactions.
So who are you?
Have 3+ years of experience in a Product Design Manager role or equivalent
Have found your home in the concept of the product company cross functional team, and are well versed in the dynamics of such a team and organisation
Have proven seniority around the design craft and ways of working
Have a passion for and experience in managing, coaching and mentoring designers
Are an engaged and proactive contributor to the design craft from a leadership perspective
Have experience from deep partnership with Product and Engineering peers
Naturally use insights throughout the design process - to understand, ideate and validate
Proactively communicate with stakeholders and team members, through verbal communication as well as presentations
Are humbled by the diversity of other people, whether it's regarding background, experience, perspective or personality
Not required:
You don't have to know Swedish (daily work is carried out in English and the Mentimeter team currently boasts over 25 different nationalities!)
