Our Purchasing team Interior and Climate is responsible for the direct material to Volvo Cars' Plants. We purchase material to advanced and new projects and running production for all Volvo Cars' manufacturing plants. Interior's main areas are "Seat and Restraints", "Cockpit and Climate", "Interior trim" and "Interior components".
One of our colleagues within Cockpit & Climate is leaving for another challenging task and we are therefore looking for a new Product Buyer within our team in Göteborg. The group has the global responsibility for activities through the complete production lifecycle of concerned parts, such as sourcing of new projects and negotiation in running business. We develop a global supplier base and commodity strategies as well as maintain existing supplier relationships. You will work closely together with global suppliers as well as with the team in Göteborg and Shanghai. This position and these commodities cover a wide range of materials and processes why it is important to have a good holistic understanding and strategic view.
Main responsibilities
• Co-operate in cross-functional teams to develop commodity strategies that maximizes corporate synergies
• Strive to attain constant improvements and increase efficiency by e.g. establishing a supplier base in accordance with Volvo Cars' overall strategies
• Take lead and drive sourcing decisions to completion with sourcing
• Establish agreements and commercial & program agreements
• Participate in Total Value Management (TVM) activities
• Participate in cross-functional teams with engineering, quality and manufacturing
• Drive continuous improvement activities, both within purchasing and at suppliers
• Establish action plans on part specific supplier issues in running business
Required qualifications
• Commercial or Technical university degree or equivalent
• At least two years experience as a purchaser
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

• Ability to independently drive and complete tasks
• Very good communication skills
• Structured way of working
• Honest person with high integrity
