Product Buyer, Body & Fasteners
Volvo Cars Purchasing is looking for a Product Buyer to join our Purchasing department. You will be placed within the Body & Fasteners function with main responsibility for driving and developing the purchasing work within selected commodities. Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliers and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production and non-production material and services to Volvo Cars. The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
Your role as a Product Buyer involves managing sourced suppliers. To begin with assignments will be focused on transactional work and to understand the complex automotive business. The right candidate will have good opportunity to move to more advanced positions. You have a strong winning mentality with lots of energy.
Job profile:
• Carry out negotiations at an optimal cost level
• Make agreements and contracts
• Conduct supplier selection and evaluation
• Participate in cross functional teams with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing
• Administrative work (transactions, updating price files, reporting, resolving supplier issues)
• Main contact for all commercial issues towards the suppliers
• Negotiate and establish sourcing agreement
• Act on design changes within the project
Your profile:
• Technical or commercial education
• Result oriented and passion for business with customer focus
• Ability to prioritize your own work and deliver on time
• Strong communication skills in English and Swedish
• Strong team player
