Volvo Car Group is having a very positive momentum with several new car programs in the near future. We develop a global supplier base and commodity strategies as well as maintain existing supplier relationships.
Purchasing Powertrain Installation is responsible for direct material to all Volvo Cars Plants. We purchase material to advanced projects, new projects and running production for all Volvo Car Group manufacturing plants. Powertrain Installation main areas are "Fuel System, Engine Mounts, Exhaust and Air Induction Systems".
As a Product Buyer you have the responsibility to source new programs and establish final agreements. You are going to represent Volvo Car Group and Purchasing towards the supplier base as well as strive to attain constant improvements and increase efficiency, e.g. establishing a supplier base in accordance to the company's overall strategies. You will also carry out market test analysis and benchmarking studies and participate in cross functional teams with Engineering, Quality and Cost Estimating.
Main responsibilities
• Issue purchase orders and make other transactions, updates and reports
• Establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business
• Work toward short and long term targets
• It is within your role to act on design changes within the projects
• Work toward individual targets
• Secure agreements are implemented in Purchasing system and follow up on result
• Frequent supplier contacts regarding day-to-day tasks
• Be a part of Global commodity Council, discuss strategy and projects to align with China Purchasing Team
Required qualifications
• Commercial or Technical education at University or equivalent
• Experience in areas sales/purchase is an advantage
• Experience in leading projects is an advantage
• Interest in technology and in making business
• Good overall computer (MS Office) and administration skills are needed including good knowledge in excel and power point
• Good knowledge in English, written and spoken
• Experience from automotive industry is an advantage

• Good cooperation and communication skills to create challenge with respect both internally and externally
• Good negotiation skills and ability to challenge with respect and find win-win solutions
• Structured way of working with an ability to handle many issues/projects in parallel
