Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliers
and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production and non-production material and services to Volvo Cars.
The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
Powertrain Purchasing is responsible for direct material going to Volvo plants and is divided in
two teams: Fuel System & Engine Mount components and Complete Engine & Transmission. The
Fuel System & Engine Mount component team is now recruiting a Buyer to temporarily take on the responsibility for Fuel Tanks during the period 2012-01-16 until 2012-08-31.
Purchasing Fuel System & Engine Mount components has the responsibility for all commercial activities regarding the sourcing of fuel systems, engine mount components and hybrid transmission systems ensuring that quality, cost and timing requirements critical to our everyday operations are secured and handled in a professional way. Further more, we develop the supply base management strategy as well as maintain supplier relationship.
Your key task will be to work with:
Negotiate piece price, tooling and development cost
Issue purchase order
Act on design changes within the project (PCR procedure)
Cooperate with R&D in running changes and new parts
Establish action plans on supplier issues in running business
We are looking for a person with:
Commercial drive
Result oriented
Good communication skills and fluent in English is a requirement
Ability to prioritize among own work/tasks/meetings and have a structured way of working.
Ability to build and maintain trustful relationships as well as use facts to gain trust, consensus and alignment, internally and externally
Good team player
Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel
University degree in Technology or Economy
