Product Buyer- Complete Engine and Transmission

Ensuring the supply of materials and services - at the right cost, quality and technology - is essential for the success of Volvo Car Corporation. As PRODUCT BUYER you will be a part of the section Complete Engine and Transmission within
Powertrain Purchasing. Powertrain Purchasing is responsible for direct material going to Volvo production and is divided in two sections: Complete Engine, Transmission & AWD System, Driveshaft's, Propshafts and Hybrids. The Complete Engine and Transmission section is now recruiting one Product Buyer for Complete Engines and one Product Buyer for Transmission systems.
Purchasing Complete Engine and Transmission has the responsibility for all commercial activities regarding the sourcing of complete Engine and Transmission systems. Ensuring that quality, cost and timing requirements critical to our everyday operations is secured and handled in a professional way. Further on, we develop the supply base management strategy as well as maintain supplier relationship. Your role as a Product Buyer involves managing sourced suppliers. To begin with assignments will be focused on transactional work and to understand the complex automotive business. You will travel to the main suppliers from time to time and you will work closely with the production plants in Sweden and Gent.
Job profile:
• Issue purchase order
• Negotiate and establish Pricing and Agreements
• Work in close relation with our purchasing office in China
• Sourcing new business for new programs
• Act on design changes within the project
• Establish action plans on supplier issues in running business
• Carry out market analysis and bench marking studies
• Contribute in advanced engineering projects
Your profile:
• Commercial drive with former experience from purchasing
• Very good analytical ability and strong in documentation
• Organised, structured and ability to prioritise
• Ability to build trustful and business oriented relationships
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
• Master of Science or equivalent education in Engineering or Business administration and Economics
