Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will be a vital member of our Procurement & Logistics (P&L) team, working with our two Swedish manufacturing units belonging to Electrification Smart Power HUB Central Europe, located in Alingsås and Västerås.
You will be responsible to design and execute purchasing strategies within our supply base for the Indirect Material Category by creating good relationships that will foster the evolution of both ABB and our Suppliers on a longterm basis. You will also develop processes to ensure functional compliance in line with policies and procedures.
On a personal level, you are strong in analytics and motivated by teamwork. You are highly independent, and solution oriented with strong communicative and collaborative skills.
Moreover, you are good at building extensive networks internally as well as externally.
This position reports to Procurement Manager.
Your responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, and maintain a database of approved suppliers for indirect materials, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
Act as the main point of contact for investment projects and negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers.
Track and analyze costs related to indirect materials, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage procurement budgets.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies while mitigating procurement risks.
Develop and implement safe handling and storage procedures, conducting regular staff training on compliance and safety.
Promote sustainability by sourcing ecofriendly materials, implementing recycling programs, and monitoring environmental impact.
Collaborate with suppliers to introduce sustainable alternatives and support waste reduction initiatives.
Report on cost performance, variances, and the environmental impact of procurement activities.
Optimize procurement processes to ensure timely delivery of materials and support operational efficiency.
Monitor supplier performance to maintain high standards and foster longterm partnerships.
Qualifications for the role
To be suitable for this role you have 2 -5 years of relevant work experience.
You hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering or Economics or other relevant field.
Experience from strategic sourcing, operative purchasing, quality and/or product development will be to your advantage.
Basic IT tools like MS Office and ERP-systems (SAP) are also familiar to you.
As you will be working in a global environment, you are fluent in English, written and spoken alike, whereas knowledge of other languages is a plus.
