Our Business Unit structure is aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship and enhancing functional expertise. Our sBUs are supported by the functional area departments Accounting & Control, Communications, Human Resources, Information Management, Legal, Purchasing and Sustainability & Innovation.
In sBU Ethylene Amines we produce and market ethanol- and ethylene amines - used in the manufacture of products such as cleaners, polymers, paints, paper chemicals, chelates and pharmaceuticals. We are the leader in the ethylene amines industry and our ability to compete is to a high extent based on technology leadership. In Stenungsund we have one of the world's largest and most modern production sites of its kind, which makes us a reliable supplier to our customers. To cater for our Asian customers' increasing demand for ethylene amines, we have opened production facilities in Ningbo, China, and with these two manufacturing sites we are a global leader in the ethylene amines business.
Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for an individual who can fulfill the following role of Process Technology Steward for the sBU Ethylene Amines RD&I and Technology Department in Stenungsund.
The key objective is to drive improvement projects for the sBU EA's main Process Technologies (Ethylene Oxide, Ethanol Amines and Ethylene Amines) from initiation to final implementation. Important improvement areas include production cost, sustainability profile, safety or product quality and flexibility. Tasks may range from optimization and minor modifications of the existing processes to the scale-up and introduction of novel technology.
The role is global and will involve activities in both of our plants, Stenungsund and Ningbo, and the exploitation of synergies between them.

Job requirements / Candidate profile
To be successful in this position you should have an academic degree in Chemical Engineering or similar and at least five years of relevant industrial experience.
You must have the ability to drive improvement projects involving people from various functions, which require strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
The relevant processes are complex and require the ability to perform broad and systematic analyses comprising HSE, IP and economic aspects.
A broad network within AkzoNobel is needed and you are also expected to follow external development in the industry and identify new opportunities for process improvements.
