The role
The Leader will set the functional strategic direction for the Process Execution Teams. They will drive the implementation and delivery of manufacturing performance in line with the agreed manufacturing plan, customer needs and costs. Leader will be accountable for site, global and leading edge projects. Will also be a member of the site leadership team. If supply is outsourced, the leader will be accountable for determining the portfolio of important global external suppliers that represent a significant proportion of Global External Sourcing spend with a wide geographic spread in a number of regions.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Develops strategic direction for Manufacturing Management function that is in keeping with broader AstraZeneca strategy and objectives
Potentially acts as leader of Process Execution team in smaller countries or regions
Builds and negotiates budgets for various areas of Manufacturing Management function, based on capability and capacity information from more junior managers
Develops understanding of client needs and ensures Manufacturing Management function has the resources and capacity to satisfy these over the medium and long term
Employs experience and expertise to resolve the most complex issues in Manufacturing Management
Ensures proper system and processes are in place to manage budgets and guarantee that objectives are met
Employs coaching, training and mentoring to ensure there is an adequate talent pipeline for the manufacturing management function
Minimum experience
Bachelor?s Degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management or related field
Significant experience in manufacturing and supply chain
Proven leadership promoting motivation and empowering others to accomplish individual, team and organizational objectives
Ability to lead cross functional working groups and teams; Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global and regional environment
Proven negotiation, collaboration and interpersonal leadership skills
Budgetary and resource management planning experience
Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking
Preferred experience/requirements
Effective problem and conflict resolution skills and proven team focus
Excellent knowledge of AstraZeneca policies, procedures and guideline
Experience in managing major programs in a Pharmaceutical environment
