The team and the area
You will be part of the Maintenance Engineering organization and report to the Maintenance Manager. The Teams purpose is to provide technical leadership for assigned equipment and work closely with Team Managers, Service Technicians, Maintenance Engineers, Process Engineers, Area Managers, and external suppliers.
The Furnace Area is an important part of our production and includes advanced high-temperature processes such as epitaxy, Low-Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPCVD), and thermal oxidation. These processes are used to grow and deposit controlled material layers and to form high-quality oxide films, making stable temperature profiles, gas flows, pressure, and equipment conditions essential to product quality and process repeatability. You will bridge equipment maintenance and process engineering, using equipment data, process results, and production feedback to identify causes of instability, improve uptime and utilization, and ensure that technical actions are coordinated across teams.
About the role
As a Process Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical health, reliability, and continuous improvement of equipment within the Furnace Area. Equipment is your primary discipline, supported by process knowledge that enables effective fault analysis, improvement work, and close collaboration with Process Engineers.
You will act as the technical lead for the assigned equipment, guide service technicians, coordinate technical escalations, and lead root cause analyses of downtime events and recurring failures. You will also develop equipment monitoring and preventive maintenance, define relevant KPIs, contribute to equipment purchases and upgrades, and serve as a technical contact for suppliers.
In this role, you will:
Act as the technical lead for assigned furnace equipment, guiding service technicians and leading complex troubleshooting, root cause analyses, and follow-up of corrective actions.
Manage technical escalation plans and coordinate equipment status, priorities, and actions with Team Managers, Process Engineers, and suppliers.
Use equipment and process data to identify causes of instability, define and follow up KPIs such as uptime, MTBF, and MTTR, and improve equipment monitoring through equipment dashboard and SPC.
Develop preventive maintenance routines, maintain technical documentation, and contribute to equipment purchases, installations, upgrades, and spare-part planning.
Lead equipment-related risk analyses and ensure LOTO and other safety requirements are reflected in maintenance routines, documentation, and training.
We are looking for someone who has:
A Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
At least five years of relevant experience in manufacturing with strong equipment-related knowledge and an understanding of production processes. Experience in semiconductor or MEMS process development or manufacturing is an advantage.
Experience with root cause analysis, data analysis, SPC, quality-control methods, equipment monitoring, and preventive maintenance systems.
Proficiency in English, particularly in technical terminology and documentation. Swedish is considered as highly meritorious.
To thrive in this role, you enjoy working analytically and finding practical solutions to complex technical challenges. You take a structured and proactive approach to your work, communicate clearly with different stakeholders, and are comfortable guiding others. With several activities often running in parallel, you are also able to prioritize effectively and ensure that actions are documented and followed through.
What we offer you
The opportunity to work with cutting-edge MEMS technology and some of the most advanced equipment in the industry.
A technically challenging environment where you solve complex problems and continuously develop your expertise.
A varied role in which new challenges, technologies, and improvement opportunities make every day different.
