Process Engineer

We are now seeking a Process Engineer - water and wastewater treatment with primary role supporting product development and research for biological treatment products. The Process Engineer will also be actively involved with the design, commissioning, and customer support of our biological treatment products and possess superior biological treatment process knowledge. The Process Engineer is a technical resource, contributing to research or process testing as needed for product development, in addition to supporting pre and post sales efforts. In this role you will be responsible to:

• Develop technical programs to evaluate product and process concepts with intentions of commercialization. Responsible for delivering process flow diagrams, process instrumentation diagrams, mass balance calculations, and application of instrumentation and controls.
• Provides process engineering support to controls engineers when developing control philosophies and algorithms.
• Develop and execute pilot testing protocols for biological treatment systems.
• Provide process technical support to engineering and sales staff to enable them to successfully apply biological products/processes.
• Author technical papers for presentation at regional and international conferences to promote Xylem thought leadership advancing treatment technology.
• Perform process testing in the lab or field for current and new products to generate operating data.
• Ensure customer design specifications and Sanitaire's Xylem's process design are matched.
• Prepare operational description and other post sales documents which direct customer on optimal system performance.
• Perform process training at the customer site once the system is commissioned and provide continued process support to existing installations.
• Conduct internal process training seminars as needed for new hires.
• Conduct presentations with prospective customers for biological treatment solutions.
• Understand competitive biological treatment products and capable of evaluating Xylem products against competition.
• Provide product application and support to sales department commercial teams.

Qualifications

You have a Master of Science degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental) combined with at least 3 years of field experience within the wastewater industry. You must have a strong working knowledge of biological treatment for activated sludge wastewater treatment systems. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is also required. Experience with wastewater treatment modeling software such as BioWin is desirable. You have solid project management experience, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization. You are able to work in a matrix organization and have the ability to travel 10-25%, as required.
