You now have a great opportunity to join us in Avesta Operations, one of Outokumpu 's fully integrated production sites. Avesta invented duplex stainless steel in 1930 and that heritage continues, housing a melt shop, hot rolling, cold rolling and finishing lines. We are specialized in thick and wide materials as well as Pro Grades in the Forta, Ultra and Therma ranges. Our culture is open and including. We take great proud in our production and products. The melt shop produce 450 kt with a mix of ~60-70% Pro grades.
We are now looking for a Process Developer for our Electric Arc Furnace process (EAF). As process developer you are the EAF process group expert on process methods which includes responsibility of process development and strategical investments.
Main responsibilities
• Lead your area of responsibility, support implementation of new methods and initiatives:
Take initiative in developing process methods, work with continuously improvements and implement new processes in cooperation with operators and other stakeholders.
• Support the EAF process group by actively contribute to achieve, develop and monitoring target KPI:s, such as yield, quality, rework, production cost, emissions etc.
• Report and analyze quality deviations on delivered material.
• Participate in daily control meetings.
• Support and participate in internal and external R&D-projects.
Qualifications
• University degree in Metallurgy, Materials, Physics or equal
• Several years of work experience in steel industry, preferably from furnaces
• Experienced user in Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, Power Point and Access
• Good analytical capability
• Performance-oriented drive for improvements
• Good collaboration and communication skills
• Experienced level in Swedish and fluent in English
