Job description
We are looking for a component engineer to join the component technology team within Product Area Microwave. Our team is responsible for the introduction and maintenance of electrical components into Ericsson. This includes adhering to the Ericsson component-handling process (CHP) when introducing, verifying and approve new components/technologies as well as maintenance using Ericsson Product Data Management systems and Last Time Buy handling process.
You will monitor the component market and interact proactively with suppliers. You should be able to present technical roadmaps for the commodities that consist of component engineers, purchasers and R&D members from across Ericsson.
Other tasks include providing support to component users in case of quality problems, supporting projects for the selection of optimal components (Preferred Part List), promoting the reuse of components, participation in networks and groups promoting standardization of the component base, and encouraging cooperation between the Sourcing, Supply and Design organizations.
Qualifications and competence
You need to be a service-minded team player with the ability to drive technology strategies within the R&D, Sourcing and Supply organizations. Good social and communications skills are a must.
You should also have:
Bachelor or Master degree or equivalent in engineering
Good knowledge of English
Good technical knowledge of and interest in components
Experience in hardware design is an advantage
