Position Description
We are looking for a Principle Engineer, Fuel and Ad Blue specialist, a specialist in supporting Powertrain system development. A person who knows that the key to business success is curiosity, drive for result and a desire to learn.
In this role you will represent Volvo, Engine Engineering, in both external international networks, standards, and in internal activities. The role will also involve "hands on" activities in order to support our development projects, follow-up of certification and compliance activities including interpreting and breaking down legal requirements.
Powertrain Engineering (PE) Sweden within Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) is working with developing, industrializing, and maintaining heavy duty engines, transmissions, and electromobility solutions for the commercial transportation business. This position is in the Heavy Duty Powertrain Engineering Development department and it supports mainly product development. You will work closely with Fuel analyst colleague within Strategic Development within PE in supporting Fuel and Ad Blue in terms of specifications, legislation, and fuel quality analysis to GTT and Volvo Group.
Main responsibilities
Technical fuel and Ad Blue expertise in Product development projects and Product maintenance.
Volvo's Representative in Fuel standardization, Swedish Standards Institute (SIS) and European Committee for Standardization (CEN)
Contacts with fuel suppliers, specific investigations related to fuel market together with Fuel analyst within Strategic Development on behalf of Volvo Group
Maintain fuel expertise and knowledge sharing info regarding global fuel and Ad Blue, in terms of specifications, legislation, and fuel quality analysis
Support Product development with Test fuel specifications and market analysis of fuels
Support Fuel Analysist within Strategic Development in fuel and energy roadmap annually

Who are you?

You have experience in internal combustion engine development preferably in the field of energy and fuels
Good knowledge of engine combustion fundamentals and controls, as well as regarding fuel characteristics and fuel/engine interactions.
At least 8 years of experience in the automotive business within powertrain development, Strong communication skills in English
Preferably PhD or Master of Science (or equivalent)
