Let us describe the challenge we offer
To our Surface Design team, we are now looking for a new star designer. A patient and devoted senior surface designer who finds excitement and challenge in modelling complex shapes into harmonic perfection. If you are the right person, we offer you a dynamic job opportunity in our cross-carline team were the surface designers, industrial designers and studio engineers together develop the cars of the future. We are looking for an experienced surface designer who enjoys conducting trainings, being a problem solver, got-to guy and basically being the umbrella for the team regarding issues around surface design. This role will be based at Polestar Design in Gothenburg, Sweden.

What you'll do
Together with Designers and Studio Engineers, you will oversee the inclusion of the correct star parameters in the proposal. You will lead working groups and have the opportunity to take own responsibility. The role also includes creating interior/exterior surface models with the aid of the Design department's DSM modeling tools.
Further on, you will:
• Take part in developing methodology and standards for the Surface design deliveries in all phases of a car project
• Time planning of DSM assignments
• Deliver surface models within the agreed time frame and to safeguard the quality of the proposal
• Lead smaller trainings for other surface designer and designers (interior/exterior)
• Taking the role as a mentor for the team
• Channelizing knowledge about surface design through the design organization including best practices and improvements.
• Work with innovative and alternative solutions on different projects which are running simultaneously.
• Developing future processes within digital modeling and maybe other areas within design.
Who you are
To be successful in this role we believe that you are a collaborative player who enjoys working with others in teams. You have excellent communication skills and are comfortable to actively take on responsibilities. You understand how the shape of a part has its implications on appearance. To understand design sketches and be able to translate the designer's intents into a DSM is something you find inspiring. Being mentor for other colleagues within design and empowering them is something that gives you energy and puts a smile on your face. You have a keen eye for proportions and different designs, also actively improving the quality in the models. You are a natural problem solver, and you can easily work with different projects at the same time.
Additional to this, we are searching for you who have:
• A university degree in relevant field or equally experience
• Preferably at least 10 years of experience of surface modelling in Alias or Icem Surf
• Basic skills in Catia
• A long-documented experience of form and function
• Knowledge in Teamcenter
• Polygon modelling skills are a requirement
