As Principal Software Architect, you will lead the design effort on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. Your role is to design innovative solutions to real market problems. You will define the SW architectural strategy for a team of software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones. You will work closely with the GEHC SW Center of Excellence, SW architects in other business units and product/marketing managers.

The essential responsibilities are:

Manage a 5 year SW roadmap applying in-depth knowledge of product related technologies, technology platforms, architectures and engineering design principles and advancements

Manage Software design evolution across multi-generation product releases

Lead Software technology and competitor watch activities to enable possible technology intakes

Lead IP reviews for software

Follow outside world software trends in order to stay competitive

Translating voice of the customer findings into software design improvements

Successfully communicate conceptual ideas and design rationale

Identify the appropriate software architecture based on the requirements

Together with other SW architects, Usability leader and ID leader set a software architecture and strategy for the business

Lead the review process for high level software architecture

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field

Several years of proven experience in the SW business, and experience of leading large SW design efforts

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in English and in Swedish

Experience of the complete software development life cycle, including analysis, design, code and test

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus

Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems

Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form

Must be willing to travel (occasionally)

EU work permit

Desired Characteristics

Experience in #C, JAVA and GEHC SW platform Predix

Experience in Automation
