Guess what! This is opportunity to join the Science and Technology team at Oatly, working in a dynamic and collaborative environment to carry out world-class research and development aligned to our business strategic objectives. You will work with other business functions at Oatly.

You will lead the Analytical Chemistry Platform at Oatly, being responsible for the analytical laboratories and instruments, as well as contributing to a corporate strategy for analytical science.

The analytical laboratory is based in facilities in Lund in Sweden, and is equipped with state-of-the art chromatography equipment including LC-MS, GC-MS and GPC; modern instruments for molecular biology (PCR, SDS-PAGE, ELISA) and physical assessment (NIR, RVA).

To succeed in the role, we believe you have a PhD in analytical chemistry with a special emphasis in chromatography. If you have the drive, curiosity and a warm personality, here is your chance.

Here's what you would do,

• Lead the implementation of the Analytical Science Platform at Oatly.

• Develop and validate new analytical methods based on different chromatography techniques, mass spectrometry, colorimetric and physical assays among others.

• Implement of state-of-the-art chromatography and mass spec technology to increase the analytical portfolio.

• Scientifically coach, train and support different partners involved in the analytical science platform to deliver project outcomes.

• Support analytical methods acquisition, development, validation, troubleshooting and external transfer.

• Maintain a safe laboratory working environment for yourself and others. This includes performing and updating risk assessments, SOPs, and contributing to Health and Safety management.

• Design, develop and execute experimental workflows from sample preparation to data processing and analysis based on project needs.

• Responsible for keeping sample records and analytical data in electronic platforms and internal systems.

• Present results to different stakeholders and propose follow-ups to further steps in the project.

• Be pro-active at collaborating and improving work environment.

• Periodically travel to different sites within and outside Oatly.

Are you the Oatsome person we are looking for?

To thrive and be happy in this role, we believe that you have the following qualifications and experience:

• PhD and/or postdoctoral training in analytical chemistry with a special emphasis in chromatography and mass spectrometry.

• At least 5 years of experience working with targeted and untargeted LC-MS/MS and GC-MS, in an academic or industrial environment.

• Experience analyzing different types of complex samples. Practical knowledge of analysing food and/or human samples is desirable.

• Trained in operating and troubleshooting LC-MS/MS and GC-MS instruments.

• Working knowledge in method development and validation.

• Fluent in English (oral and written).

You are passionate about improving the health of humans and planet and the role that a balanced diet has a key role to play.

You have a sharp and creative mind, with an analytical mindset to understand complex situations. You are goal oriented and know how to implement analytical projects using the chromatography and mass spec technology in house and in collaboration with external facilities. You are well connected with the Analytical Chemistry community worldwide.

You are a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive scientist who likes to work in team. You are good at adapting to new situations and make the most of every opportunity. You are an excellent communicator, able to explain complex science concepts to a range of audiences.
